"The Unseen Artist: Sights and Insights of the Piano Technician"
Arriving early or staying later for WESTPAC? Have an afternoon free? Visit NAMM's Museum of Making Music, located in Carlsbad, CA where they are hosting an exhibit honoring the Piano Technician! Visit the website at Museum of Making Music
The Piano Technicians Guild Foundation (PTGF), in support of the PTG membership, has supplied several artifacts from its museum at the PTG Home Office, together with images to educate the public about our profession. From tuning, to regulation, voicing and concert prep this exhibit acknowledges the opportunities PTG provides for professional development in our industry. As you enter the Museum, you’ll see three historic pianos sent from the PTGF Museum including the Chickering famously present in Ford’s Theatre with Abraham Lincoln on that fateful night in 1865, as well as a tool kit from the 1800’s.
